Daniel was a young man who was taken into Babylonian captivity from Jerusalem at a very young age, served in court under 3 Babylonian kings, rose in the ranks to a powerful and trusted position, survived the transition of power when the Medes and Persians conquered Babylon, and on top of all of it, remained faithful to Yahweh. Daniel's life was characterized by many difficulties and hardships, but throughout it all, we see how the Ancient of Days carried him through the fire, and saw to it that Daniel was rewarded for his faithfulness.
